BOWER’S TOWER
Bowers’s Tower is an historic monument and also the first British residence in ibadan that was put on to honor Captain Robert Lister Bower in 1936.
The tower was designed by Taffy Jones, he’s also the engineer that designed Mapo Hall. BOWER’S TOWER is 60 feet high and 11 feet square with two entrances and spiral staircase that leads to the top of the tower.
From the top of the tower, you can see Ibadan round. Anyone with a good vision can see Lagos to the tollgate from the top of BOWER’S TOWER.
The compound is so beautiful, it’s surrounded with good flowers and natural green carpet grass.
Bowers Tower is found in the hill not far from Mapo Hall and it’s a great place for picnics, wedding pictures, and any sort of celebrations inside the compound. It has a place of rest where you can shade yourself from the rain and sun. The entrance fee is 200 naira per person.
One more thing you must know, if you are coming with a bike man, please do not discharge the bike man until you are done from that circle otherwise, you will have to trek down from the hill to where you can locate another bike.
