MY ROAD TRIP TO ABUJA
Nature is the true colors of life. The road to Abuja was a great experience for me.
My road trip to Abuja begins from Iperu in Ogun state. But before then I left my house in Lagos State on Wednesday by 12pm trying to meet up with my other friends at surulere so that we can move together to Iperu where we can meet other friends of ours to journey together the next day being thursday to Abuja.
Immediately we got down to ketu, we started hearing iperu at the other side of the road and I was like this is so easy to catch. Without wasting time we cross to the other side and enter the same cab for 1000naira each heading to iperu.
After a 2hrs drive we got to Iperu where we met Kingsley who was already waiting for our arrival. Surprisingly the rest was not yet to come. So we sat down at one pavement where we started drawing our itinerary of our movement and also having some numerous discussions waiting for others to come so that we can move to Kingsley house together.
We waited till 6pm, no spot of light from our colleagues. So Kingsley called IBM; the team leader of Nigeria Tourism Lovers and ibm disclosed to us that they were still in oshodi by that time waiting for one of us.
Myself and Kingsley burst into the market to get some meat and other spices to make stew and cook rice while waiting for others to come. This wonderful delicious meal was prepared by Mariam. It was already past 10pm when i got a call from IBM calling me that he’s already at Iperu but no vehicle to convey him to the location where we are. So Kingsley and myself drove in his car down to get others standing stranded.
Glory be to God we saw them at that location safe and sound. We all exchanged greetings. I was so happy seeing my friend Tola Gabriel;ATG tours, Cordis; Mardis Travel, Mary;Makeup artist, Adenike; manager of a company and Black tourist, Mariam; Travel with Mariam and IBM;Getittome Travels.
We drove back home and they all had their dinner after taking their bath. Later we all rested for some few hours before beginning our journey the next day. Before I forget the driver that had to drive us down to Abuja was still on the road. Later he called us and said he’s around at Sagamu but he doesn’t know the road to this place where we are staying for the night. Without no time we drove out to get him to our location. That day was really stressful but so happy that it all went well.
3a.m sharp, we woke up to take our bath and dress up for the journey. It was 4:27 a.m we Left Iperu in Ogun state. That was when my road trip to Abuja started.
We passed 5 states before getting to Abuja including Ogun state. Moving in each state, that was when I understood that nature is beautiful. Do you know at that every each state we enter becomes hotter 🤣🤣🤣 from Ogun state I was feeling the weather to be cold not until we enter the second state, then the 3rd, 4th and 5th then I discover the breeze becomes hot. I pity those whose cars do not have Air conditioners.
Some of the federal roads within the state leading to Abuja were not good at all. I was now wondering if it started raining, How will the drivers or the company of those vehicles cope. Not just that, I discovered that each state has different fuel prices. although we bought fuel 3 times on this journey. First was at ibadan Which they sold for 210 Naira, second was at ekiti which they sold for 270 Naira and third was at lokoja which was sold for 162 naira.
Sometimes I ask myself what are the work of the government in their state concerning their road’s.
One good thing about this road to Abuja is that it is highly secure from Ogun state down to Abuja. In Fact the security was fully equipped. No attack or disruption by anybody. Although we were stopped and searched by NDLEA 3 times on the road.
No holdup on our way going, we had a lot of gist and also played some games which were interesting. It was fun. We all slept over and over again.
The states we pass through before entering Abuja are Ogun State, Oyo state, Ekiti State, kogi before Abuja. Although they have other ways to get to Abuja but this is the way I followed before getting to Abuja.
Finally, we got to our destination at Abuja by 5:39. The location where we camped that night is “kubwa area”. The man that accommodated us was also one of our tourist friends. I really appreciate him also.
It seems that Abuja was closer to the sun because every environment was warm even at night. Anyways it all went well until we left to imo state after receiving our award at Abuja jabamah.
Traveling on the road sometimes expands your knowledge on adventures and exposes you to new things.
